The copy I received misspelled the word audiogram on the cover as "Audiogramm" (see picture).Additionally, there are some problems with organization. The book would be more helpful if tympanometry, AR and speech scores were left blank on the worksheet side so they can be filled in and worked through. Additionally, ABR tracings would be helpful. The "interpretation" section is often a copy of the information provided in the case history and seems redundant.
The audio book is a good reference guide from the hearing test results obtained from audiologist who have difficulty in their interpretations,since they do not have access to the clinical history of patients. Some of the cases in the book are seldom seen in my clinical practice. The actual results in the book--- more or less comparable to the actual test results we obtain in the clinic.Handy reference book for residents and audiologist.
I purchased this book to help students I work with have an opportunity to analyze audiograms and make recommendations, but the workbook has been very disappointing. First of all some of the audiogram graphs are so skewed from the dB values that you can't make a determination of threshold level. The masking levels are all over the board, so there is no consistent method that was used. Most examples would result in overmasking. I am now using the book as a way for my students to find the "errors" and make corrections on what they would do when testing.
